Meet Jim Grant
Our owner/operator
Jim’s journey began with a love for landscaping and a keen eye for detail. From mowing grass as a teenager to mastering the art of grading, he honed his skills through hands-on experience and formal training. In 2005-2006, Jim attended a renowned heavy equipment school in Orange, VA, to expand and refine his expertise in dirt moving and excavation. He then worked for several digging contractors, soaking up insights and techniques from industry veterans.
In 2017, he founded JGXCAVATING with a clear vision: to provide quality excavation services grounded in precision, integrity, and excellence. Since then, Jim has been committed to transforming landscapes, building foundations, and creating lasting relationships with his customers.
